At PocketComputer, we believe that your visual data is an extension of your personal identity. Unlike many platforms that treat user images as free training data or advertising inventory, we prioritize User Sovereignty over your visual content. This policy outlines exactly how we handle, protect, and respect your images.
1. Ownership and Control
- You Retain Full Ownership: Uploading an image to PocketComputer does not transfer copyright or ownership to us. You remain the sole owner of all intellectual property rights associated with your images.
- Granular Permissions: You decide exactly who sees your images. Whether it’s private, shared with a specific group, or public, you maintain granular control via our dashboard.
- Right to Deletion: You can delete any image at any time. Upon deletion, we guarantee the immediate removal of the image from our active servers and our backups within 30 days.
2. No Training on Your Images
We explicitly do not use your personal images to train our AI models, improve our algorithms, or generate synthetic data for third parties.
- Zero-Data-Training Promise: Your images are never ingested into Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) or generative AI systems.
- No Synthetic Derivatives: We do not create “digital twins” or synthetic variations of your photos without your explicit, written consent.
3. Encryption and Security
To ensure your images remain yours alone:
- End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): Images stored in your private vault are encrypted on your device before leaving your browser/app. Only you hold the decryption keys. Even PocketComputer staff cannot view your private images.
- Secure Transmission: All image transfers utilize TLS 1.3 encryption to prevent interception during upload or download.
- Metadata Stripping (Optional): By default, we offer an option to strip EXIF data (location, device info, timestamps) upon upload to prevent accidental geotagging leaks, while preserving the visual integrity of the photo.
4. Anti-Scraping and Deepfake Protection
We employ technical measures to prevent unauthorized access to your visual identity:
- Bot Mitigation: Our systems actively detect and block automated scrapers attempting to harvest images from public profiles.
- Watermarking: For public-facing images, we offer optional invisible watermarking to help trace unauthorized usage or deepfake manipulation attempts back to the original source.
- Takedown Protocol: If you discover your image is being used elsewhere without permission, our dedicated team provides a streamlined process to issue DMCA takedowns and coordinate with hosting providers.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your images or visual metadata to advertisers, data brokers, or third-party analytics firms.
- Service Providers: Images are only shared with third-party processors (e.g., CDN providers) strictly necessary for delivery, and these partners are contractually bound to the same privacy standards.
- Legal Requests: We will only disclose images in response to a valid legal order (warrant or subpoena) and will notify you immediately unless legally prohibited from doing so.
6. Your Rights
Under global privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA, and emerging digital rights acts), you have the right to:
- Access: Download a complete archive of all images you have stored with us.
- Rectify: Correct metadata errors or replace corrupted files.
- Portability: Export your images in standard formats (JPEG, PNG, RAW) to move to another service.
- Object: Opt out of any non-essential processing of your visual data.
